Congratulations – you are now ready to begin using your Wassermaxx Deluxe drinks maker!
If your water is becoming only slightly carbonated, or not at all, then this is most likely because the CO2 cylinder is empty. Replace with an exchange cylinder.
ONLY WASSERMAXX OR SODASTREAM CO2 CYLINDERS SHOULD BE USED
You can exchange the empty CO2 cylinder for a full one and pay only for the gas. To exchange cylinders please contact an authorised dealer. For more information see www.wassermaxx.com/worldwide.
The cylinder must not be changed while a bottle is inserted into the drinks maker.
Tip: We recommend that you keep at least one cylinder at home as a back up, so that you always have CO2 available. Please contact an authorised dealer to learn how to purchase a spare CO2 cylinder.
Step 1: Insert the bottle
Wash the bottle before the first use with warm water and a mild detergent. Now fill the bottle up to the maximum level mark with cold tap water. Do not overfill the bottle and only carbonate plain water. Insert the bottle into the device then turn it to the right until secure. Make sure the bottle is positioned securely in the device.
Step 2: Make it fizzy!
Press the push button at the top of the device and keep it down for about 4 seconds to transform tap water into a refreshing, carbonated drink. Depending on how long you press the push button, you can create the level of carbonation you prefer. If you prefer it fizzier, simply push down the button again for another few seconds. It won‘t take long for you to determine your desired level of carbonation. The push-button for the CO2dosage should automatically return to its position. If this does not happen, grasp the button in the indented depression of the button and pull it upwards.
For technical reasons a whistling sound may be audible during carbonation. This is perfectly normal and harmless. Do not press the button in overly short intervals; otherwise water may drip from the drinks maker.
Tip: If you use cold water, the drink will be fizzier. For this reason, we recommend that you always keep a pre-chilled Wassermaxx bottle of drinking water in the refrigerator.
Step 3: Remove the bottle and enjoy your fizzy water or your soft drink
Turn the bottle to the left and pull it down as shown. Now you can enjoy your homemade carbonated water straight or you can mix it with Wassermaxx or SodaStream syrups of your choice to create your favourite soft drink.
Tip: While adding syrup, be sure to tilt the bottle slightly to avoid any overflow of the bubbling that can occur during this process.

| Issue | Possible Cause | Remedy |
|---|---|---|
| Water is running into the drip tray during carbonation. | The button was not pressed long enough. | Hold down the button for at least 4 seconds or a little longer. For more carbonation, push and hold it down again for another 4 seconds. |
| The bottle is over filled. | Fill the bottle only up to the max. fill line. | Pour out any excess water. |
| During / after carbonation CO2 is escaping from the device at an unusual rate. | The CO2 cylinder valve in the device is not closing. | Press the button once or twice again. If this doesn’t work, DO NOT REMOVE THE CYLINDER! Let the Device stand in a well ventilated area until it has emptied itself and gas is no longer heard escaping. Caution! The cylinder may be very cold |
| The bottle cannot be removed. | The bottle was not vented. | Grasp the hollow of the button and pull it upwards. |
| The button does not return to its original position and the device continues to carbonate at a reduced rate. | The CO2 cylinder is almost empty. | Grasp the hollow of the button and pull it upwards. Change the CO2 cylinder. |
| The water is being only slightly carbonated. | The CO2 cylinder is almost empty. | Insert a new one, as described in the “Changing the carbon dioxide (CO2 ) cylinder” section. |
| Why is water leaking onto the Cylinder? | Water leakage to the cylinder can happen if the machine “head” is not inserted firmly to the “column.” An improper insertion can cause misalignment of the excess water pipes in the head and in the column, and therefore excess water could spray onto the cylinder instead of flowing to the drip tray. Please be sure that the head and the column are properly connected. | |
|
The cylinder is too cold (due to transport during winter, for example). |
Wait until the cylinder has adapted to room temperature. | |
| The drinking water is too warm | Use cold drinking water |
The SodaStream Cylinders are not for sale. These Cylinders are the property of SodaStream International Ltd or its affiliate as indicated on the cylinder and the User Certificate attached to the cylinder.
The SodaStream Cylinder is transferred to you temporarily, subject to the terms of the Certificate, only for the specific purpose of carbonating water by means of a suitable drinks maker.
The device was designed to be used only with Wassermaxx or SodaStream CO2 cylinders to carbonate water. To make sure that your warranty is not at risk, we recommend that you only use an original Wassermaxx or SodaStream CO2 cylinder for your drinks maker.
Always store the cylinder in a cool place and keep away from high temperatures, direct sunlight, heat sources such as cookers or ovens, etc. in excess of 50°C. If the cylinder is colder than room temperature, it must be gradually brought up to room temperature – do not place it on a heat source. If the cylinder is warmer than room temperature, let it gradually cool down to room temperature. Do not place it in the freezer.
If the cylinder is iced over, avoid all physical contact with it. Do not remove the cylinder during the carbonation process.
Clean the bottles and caps with water only (max. 40°C) and a mild dish detergent. The bottles are not dishwasher safe! Do not store the bottles below 1°C and do not freeze. The bottles are heat-resistant to a maximum of 40°C.
Do not expose them to high temperatures and keep them away from sources of heat (direct sunlight, cookers, heaters, etc.). Rinse the bottle with care before and after each use to prevent soiling. Never attempt to fill an empty bottle with CO2! If deformed, scratched or discoloured, or if the use expiry date has already passed, the bottle may not be used and we recommend you replace it with a new Wassermaxx bottle.
